Port Development
“Ingeniero Valentín Morán”
Recognizes a Port, Port Terminal or Port Operator that, through its management, has driven key projects for the growth and modernization of port infrastructure in the region.

The ports of Latin America and the Caribbean are the backbone of regional trade: more than 95% of the hemisphere's exports pass through their facilities. In this context of accelerated transformation, AAPA LATAM announces the launch of the Legacy Awards 2026, the association's first institutional recognition designed exclusively to distinguish excellence, leadership and transformative impact within the Latin American port industry.
The Legacy Awards are born from a deep institutional conviction: the region's port sector advances fundamentally through the quality of its leadership, the vision of its managers and the commitment of those who dedicate their careers to raising the standard of this industry. This recognition honors the legacy of those who built the industry and inspires new generations to continue that path. It is structured in three categories, each named after a leader who embodied the values we seek to perpetuate.
Each category has its own application form.

“Agustín Díaz”
Recognizes a Port, Port Terminal or Port Operator that has promoted initiatives and policies focused on sustainability, emphasizing the reduction of environmental impact and energy efficiency.
“Armando Duarte Peláez”
